Loans are only available to members who are aged 18 or over.   All loans are based on share to loan ratio, length of membership and the ability to repay.  No loans are guaranteed and it can take up to one week for a decision to be made on a loan application.

Applying for a Loan

Members may call in to the office during opening hours to apply for a loan. Alternatively members who have applied for their PIN through the website, can apply for a loan online.

You can download an income and expenditure form below.  This will save time when you call into the office to apply for a loan.  Please complete details for the full household.  This should show all income, including that of a partner.  This should also show the full household expenditure.

• For the first three months of membership, members may apply for secure loans only
• For the following three months of membership, members may apply for three times their share balance
• After six months of membership, members may apply for four times their share balance.
  

Loan Officers will consider all applications made and may subject them to credit checks.  Applications may be referred to the Loan Review Board, which can take up to seven days for a decision to be made. 

Collecting Your Loan

If you loan has been approved and is ready for collection you must bring two forms of identification with you.

Without this information your loan will not be paid out.

You will require:

• One form of photographic identification, such as a passport or driving licence.  We will also accept: bus pass, works pass, student cards.
• One form of address identification, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.  This must contain your name and address and must be dated within the last three months.
