At East Kilbride Credit Union, we believe in supporting our community — not just financially, but by helping individuals grow, develop, and succeed. That’s why we’re proud to launch our brand-new youth initiative:

Skills for Success @ EKCU

This exciting new volunteering programme is designed for young people aged 16 and over who are ready to take their first steps toward a brighter future. Whether they’ve just left school or are in their final years, this is a valuable opportunity to gain real-world experience in a supportive, professional environment.

💼 Why Volunteer with EKCU?

We understand how important it is for young people to stand out in today’s competitive job market. Employers and universities are looking for more than just grades — they want to see initiative, teamwork, and real experience.

Through Skills for Success @ EKCU, young volunteers will:

• Develop practical skills in customer service, administration, and communication
• Build confidence and independence in a community-focused setting
• Receive a personal reference to support future job, apprenticeship, or education applications
• Learn the value of social responsibility and giving back
• Add meaningful experience to their CV or UCAS application

📅 Flexible and Structured

We know summer plans, part-time jobs, and school schedules can vary — that’s why our programme is designed to be flexible. Volunteering hours can work around individual availability, with options to continue after school or during free periods once term time resumes.

We’re running Skills for Success in small blocks of 4 students, ensuring each young person gets tailored guidance and a hands-on experience. The first block begins in July 2025, with more planned throughout the year.
