🍰 EKCU’s Bake Sale Raises £740 for Marie Curie!

We’re thrilled to share the sweet success of our Marie Curie Bake Sale, held over three wonderful days on 26th, 27th, and 28th March 2025 at our EKCU office. Organised with heart and dedication by our very own Hayley, the event brought together staff, volunteers, and the local community — all for an incredible cause.

A Feast of Homemade Goodies

The EKCU office was transformed into a baker’s paradise, featuring a mouth-watering range of bakes made with love by our team and volunteers. From cupcakes and cake pops to traybakes and creative confections, there was something for everyone.

We were especially lucky to receive generous donations from some fantastic local bakers:

• 🧁 Sweet Treats By Charlie – A stunning batch of rose-designed cupcakes that looked almost too good to eat!
• 🎂 Celebration Cakes By Robyn – Beautifully decorated cupcakes in the Marie Curie colours and theme.
• 🥧 Baynes Bakery – Known for their delicious bakes and kind support of local causes.
• And of course, our wonderful friends, family and members, who contributed with generous donations and
  home-baked delights.

Smashing Our Fundraising Target

Our original goal was to raise £200 — but thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of everyone involved, we didn’t just meet it — we smashed it, raising a fantastic total of £740 for Marie Curie!

These funds will help Marie Curie continue their incredible work providing care and support for people living with terminal illness and their families. It’s a cause close to many of our hearts, and we’re honoured to play a small part in supporting it.

This bake sale was about more than just cakes — it was a show of community spirit, compassion, and care. We’re so grateful for everyone who got involved, donated, and enjoyed a sweet treat or two.
